Frost Yer Fanny Wild and Wacky Winter Trail Run
January 21, 2006
IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAAAAAYYYY! YES RUNNERS…IT WAS BUTTT…..
FROST WE DID! Wind chill at 8:30 am was 24 degrees, with a temp of 32!
A bit of ice on the roads did not deter 96 “Wild and Wacky Winter Trail” runners from tackling the Losee Lake Trail at Silver Lake, Pinckney, MI.
Dogs, Kids, Wives, Hubbies, Mom and Pop all were on hand to cheer as the runners traversed two distances on what turned out to be a MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY around Losee Lake!
Not as FROSTY as 2005, but just as WACKY!
Most runners, preferred the longer distance (6.5 mi), but after maneuvering the first “downhill twist”, everyone had a WILD AND WACKY TIME! WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!
The OVERALL FEMALE for the Long Distance (6.5 mi) is: Rachel Post of Plymouth, MI 26 years old, in a time of 48:12. The OVERALL MALE for the long distance is: Eric Sambolec with a time of 35:59 and Eric is 28 years old.
The OVERALL WINNERS received Wild and Wacky Red, White and Blue “snake hats”, and a bottle of Hammer Gel, our main goodie bag sponsor for this event. We hope you all are trying the new HEED product!
The OVERALL FEMALE for the Short Distance (3.5 mi) is: Amy Janowicz from Ann Arbor, MI and at 34 years of age, finished in 30:00 flat! The fastest short course MALE of the day is from Brighton, MI: Steve Williams. Steve blazed away at: 29:22!
Wacky Age Group Awards included today for first place: A large box of FROSTED FLAKES, second place runners received a box of FROSTED MINI WHEATS, and the third place wacky runners received a box of FROSTED FUDGE STICKS!
Soup, Hot Chocolate, Cookies, Pretzels, Water and Fruit were on hand for the post race recovery, and everyone had a blast.
As the sun came out, the snow melted from the top of the tent, sending snow cascading to the ground.
An awesome job taking care of the runners was the park rangers from Pinckney Headquarters, Dexter Fire Department watched over us for Medical care, and of course our awesome Elite Crew: Rich, Sandy, Justin, Betty, Cody, and David.
We hope you enjoyed yourselves, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Bishop Lake in Brighton Rec Area on February 18, 2006 to FROST AGAIN…on the 5 mile Penosha Trail.
