XTERRA Torn Shirt Triathlon/Duathlon

XTERRA 6 MI TRAIL RUN
In addition to the Tri / Du, we are adding a Trail Run for folks who just want to RUN! This run will take place concurrently with the Tri/Du, starting from the Beach, and through the State Park gnarly trails. Watch for more details on the course soon!

FOR NOVICE AND NEWBIE ADVENTURES:
THE HALF TORN SHIRT TRIATHLON AND DUATHLON

Distances:

• Triathlon - 1/2 mi swim, 15 mile bike, 6 mile run
• Duathlon – 2 mile run, 15 mile bike, 6 mile run
• Half Triathlon - 1/4 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 3 mile run
• Half Du - 1 mile run, 10 mile bike, 3mile run
• Trail Run - 6 miles

Course:

• TORN SHIRT TRIATHLON/DUATHLON
  • Swim: clockwise in Bishop Lake
  • Du 1st Run: 2 miles on Bishop Road
  • Bike: two lap course, using the long and short Murray Lake trails
  • Run: one lap on the Torn Shirt Trail
  • Run Aid Stations: one at the trail head, and two on the trail
• HALF TORN SHIRT TRI AND DU
  • Swim: clockwise in Bishop Lake
  • Half Torn Du 1st Run: Bishop Lake Rd 1 mi, then follow the bike and 2nd run of the triathlon above.
  • Bike: one lap on the Long Murray Lake Trail
  • Run (tri & du): First part of run is on the Torn Shirt Trail, then you cross over onto the Penosha Hiking trail and return to finish.

Water temps historically run between 68 and 75 degrees for these events making it wetsuit-legal. Wearing a triathlon wetsuit will help keep you warm and will increase your buoyancy - making for an easier, more pleasant swim.

Entry Fees:

Include a race t-shirt, goodie bag, challenging off road course, XTERRA door prizes, post race recovery fruit and drinks, immediate chip timed results, and a post race lunch during awards.

XTERRA POINTS: XTERRA Points will NOT be awarded for the Half Torn Shirt Tri and Du. Points ONLY for the Full Torn Shirt Tri.

USAT Licenses:

• A current USAT license and PHOTO ID must be shown to pick up your race packet if you have paid the rate for USAT members. Click here to buy an annual USAT Membership

• Saturday: June 15, at the race site from 2:30 - 5:00 pm

• Overall male and female and 3 deep in every division
• Drawing Prizes: random drawings for XTERRA gear

Directions:

• FROM FLINT: US 23 South toward Ann Arbor - Take Exit 54 toward Pinckney (west). At the top of the exit turn right on 9 Mile Rd. Continue on 9 Mi Rd, it becomes M-36, then turn right on Chilson Rd. Follow Chilson to Bishop Lake Rd, turn right onto Bishop Lake Rd.
• FROM OHIO: US 23 North toward Flint/Brighton - Take Exit 54 B toward Pinckney (west), at the bottom of the exit turn right (this is 9 Mile Rd). Continue on 9 Mi Rd, it becomes M-36, then turn right on Chilson Rd. Follow Chilson to Bishop Lake Rd, turn right onto Bishop Lake Rd.
  
• FROM DETROIT: I 96/696…or I 94 West to US 23 - US 23 North toward Flint. Take Exit 54 B toward Pinckney. Same directions as from Ohio.
• FROM CHICAGO: I 94 East to US 23 North, US 23 North toward Flint.
  Take Exit 54 B toward Pinckney. Same directions as from Ohio.

• Transfer policy: If a transfer is necessary, you MUST contact Elite Endeavors by email at least 72 hours prior to the event (Wednesday evening). There will be a $15 fee charged for any transfer. Transfer must take place within a year.
